UAE students performed well in A-level exams
UAE students have performed well in this year’s A-level exams, despite expectations that grades would be lower than in previous years.
Gems Education, which has schools in the UAE and Qatar, said that 24% of its A-level entries achieved A* to A grades, and almost half (45%) recorded A* to B grades.
The Taleem group, which also has schools in the UAE, reported a 100% pass rate.
Dr Saima Rana, chief education officer of Gems Education, said that the students’ results were “outstanding” and that they had shown “tenacity, resilience and dedication to their studies”.
Rebecca Gray, director of education at Taaleem, said that the group’s students had “excelled in an academic year marked by global predictions of lower awards”.
She said that a significant number of the students had secured places at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities, including St. Andrews, London School of Economics, and Durham University.
The strong performance of UAE students in the A-level exams is a positive sign for the country’s education system. It suggests that students are still able to achieve high levels of academic success, even in the face of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
The results are also a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, their teachers, and their families.
