Mohammed Al Sharqi attends Fujairah Media Forum

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, has highlighted the significant role of media in societal development and individual awareness.

He noted the Fujairah government’s commitment, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to advance the media sector and adapt to global changes across various levels.

These remarks were made during his attendance at the Fujairah Media Forum 2024, themed “Parallel Media.” The event saw the presence of notable figures such as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture & Information, and Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, along with a host of Arab media professionals, publishers, and enthusiasts engaged in contemporary media topics.

Also in attendance were His Highness Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of the E-Government Department in Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of Fujairah Free Zone Authority.

Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Diwan and Chairman of the Forum’s Higher Committee, represented the Fujairah government in his speech. He credited the revival of the Fujairah Media Forum to the Ruler of Fujairah’s directives, emphasizing the Crown Prince’s role in leveraging media developments to benefit the nation and society.

Al Dhanhani discussed the forum’s focus on crucial cultural, educational, and media topics under the “Parallel Media” theme, aiming to bolster traditional media while effectively integrating digital platforms for societal advancement. He posed a critical question about balancing technology use without losing focus on essential objectives, emphasizing the need for serious media to address significant issues without becoming distracted.

He stressed the collective effort required to maintain cultural identity and convey accurate messages through technology, underscoring media’s vital role in shaping future generations.

During the event, the Crown Prince honoured some of the oldest Arabic newspapers and their editors-in-chief: Maged Monir of Egypt’s Al-Ahram, Hamad Al Kaabi of the UAE’s Al-Ittihad, and Ibrahim al Mulaifi of Al Arabi magazine.

The opening ceremony featured a short film titled “A World of Magic,” which illustrated the evolution of media and the impact of technological advancements and new digital platforms on traditional media. This was followed by a documentary film celebrating the history and contributions of these esteemed publications.

The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of H.H. Crown Prince of Fujairah, and a diverse group of media professionals.
