FMAC celebrates Sporting Achievements in 2023

Fujairah Martial Arts Club (FMAC) held a fifth-edition sports achievement and partners’ appreciation ceremony in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of Fujairah Martial Arts Club.

In this context, the club’s director, Nader Abu Shawish, said: “The presence and honor of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah gives the players a great moral boost for further future achievements.” He pointed out that the 2022-2023 sports season witnessed many achievements at the local and international levels. We are proud of the honor of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah for sports achievers and partners, as this has a pivotal role in motivating players, coaches, administrators, and the club’s family to further train, aspire, and succeed in winning.”

He added: “1,297 athletes participated in this season, including 759 men and 538 women in ten sports practiced at the club, achieving the most prominent achievements, including a historic achievement that is the first at the UAE level, as Fujairah Martial Arts Club won the general superiority shields in three sports, namely judo, fencing, and taekwondo.”

He continued: “The club won 1,151 medals throughout the season, including 348 gold, 363 silver, and 440 bronze, including 196 medals in taekwondo, 138 medals for fencing players, and 113 medals in judo. In swimming, the club broke four swimming records. At the international level, the club’s players won 125 medals, including 39 gold, 66 silver, and 20 bronze in taekwondo, fencing, archery, boxing, triathlon, and judo. On the level of supporting the national teams, the club provided the UAE teams with players who won 57 medals, including 19 gold, 24 silver, and 14 bronze.”

During the ceremony, three administrators who attained positions on the boards of sporting federations were honored. These individuals, who are members of the club, include Mohsen Al Ali (Triathlon Federation), Ali Al Kandari (Sports for All Federation), and Ali Al Yamahi (Judo Federation).

Additionally, the event recognized strategic partners, journalists, and representatives of the media.
