Rabīʽ al-Awwal – November
Rabīʽ al-Awwal is the third month in the Islamic calendar. The name Rabī‘ al-awwal means “the first [month] or beginning of spring”, referring to its position in the pre-Islamic Arabian calendar. During this month, majority of Muslims celebrate Mawlid – the birthday of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad.
Islamic Calendar depends on the movement of the moon. The beginning of each month is marked by the observance of a new moon seen for the first time. Visibility of the new moon depends on various factors such as weather hence; Islamic Calendar is only an estimate of the future Islamic events.
