Fujairah to host Arab Judo Championship 15th November

The Fujairah Martial Arts Club, in collaboration with the Emirates Judo Federation and under the supervision of the Arab Judo Federation, is honoured to host the Arab Championship for junior and female club teams, as well as young men and women across various age groups. This prestigious event, is to be held at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, and is graciously supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The draw for the individual club championship is scheduled for November 16th, followed by a referees’ meeting and weigh-in procedures for the first day’s competitions commencing on Friday, November 17th. The Cubs category will showcase various weight classes for both males and females.

On Friday, November 17th, attention will shift to the male and female middle weight competitions, culminating in the coronation ceremony. The focus then turns to the second day of the tournament for young men and women on Saturday, November 18th, featuring weigh-in procedures in the same hall. Sunday, November 19th, is designated for the commencement of competitions for young men, young women, and teams.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Darei, President of the Judo Federation, expresses gratitude for the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club and its continuous cooperation, which has significantly contributed to the progress and development of the sport in the Eastern Region.

Muhammad Jassim, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Judo Federation, also expressed confidence in the readiness of the tournament organizing committee to kick off the competitions. He extended gratitude to the Fujairah Martial Arts Club for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of the tournament. Jassim noted the joy in returning to Fujairah for the Arab Championship, recalling the city’s previous hosting of the Asian Championship in 2018. He emphasized the significant support and cooperation provided by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, attributing their contribution to the early success of the championship. Jassim highlighted Fujairah’s role as a catalyst for judo’s development at the national level and expressed anticipation for the continued success of the first Arab club championship in Fujairah, solidifying its position as a key hub for hosting judo championships and individual games.
