Fujairah Launches “Musical Street” Project — A First in the Arab World
The Fujairah Fine Arts Academy has launched the groundbreaking “Musical Street” project, the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab world.
Stretching 750 meters along Sheikh Khalifa Street — at the entrance to Fujairah City, just before the Fujairah Courthouse — this innovative installation offers drivers and passengers a unique musical experience. As vehicles pass over the specially designed road, their tires play the iconic melody from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
This creative project is part of the Academy’s broader efforts to promote the arts in public spaces and seamlessly integrate music into everyday life. It reflects Fujairah’s cultural and artistic identity in a fresh and imaginative way.
H.E. Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, stated:
“The Musical Street is part of Fujairah’s vision to make art a part of daily life. It offers a unique sensory experience in an unexpected place. We believe that music is a universal language capable of creating extraordinary moments — even while driving.”
He added that the project connects art with everyday living and embodies the Academy’s mission to spread beauty and creativity throughout the emirate, especially through artistic initiatives.
