Developed as part of the President’s Initiatives, the hospital represents one of the UAE’s most advanced healthcare projects, built at a cost of AED 843 million. Spanning 89,000 square metres, it currently accommodates 222 beds, with potential expansion to over 350. The hospital is designed to provide tertiary care services in line with top international healthcare standards.
During the inauguration, Their Highnesses toured the facility, exploring its specialised departments, including three centres of excellence: the Burn Treatment Centre, the Rehabilitation Centre, and the Trauma Treatment Centre. These centres are equipped with the latest medical technologies, offering world-class diagnostic, therapeutic, and recovery services.
H.H. Sheikh Hamad Al Sharqi praised President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed’s vision and commitment to enhancing the nation’s healthcare infrastructure and ensuring high-quality services are accessible to all. H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed also commended the President’s efforts in advancing the UAE’s comprehensive development and supporting the health and wellbeing of its people. He described the hospital as one of the most vital projects under the President’s Initiatives, aligning with the national vision to establish a robust, modern healthcare system.
The hospital includes a 30-bed emergency and trauma department (expandable to 60 beds), 55 outpatient clinics, and specialised facilities such as MRI, CT scans, and tomography imaging. The rehabilitation centre features cutting-edge equipment including a hydrotherapy pool, two hyperbaric oxygen therapy rooms, and advanced prosthetic support.
The burns unit consists of 10 patient rooms, five ICU beds, and a fully equipped operating theatre. Additional amenities include royal and VIP suites, cardiac and general intensive care units, and surgical and medical wards.
Sheikh Khalifa Hospital is managed by The Medical Office under PureHealth Group, which oversees hospitals in the northern emirates as part of the President’s Initiatives in coordination with the Presidential Court.
