Fujairah Crown Prince attends “History of Civilisations: From Stone Roots to World Civilisation” session

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasized the importance of studying the history of civilizations as a key to understanding human development and fostering intercultural dialogue. He noted that tracing the journey of humanity from the Stone Age to global civilization is essential for building a future rooted in communication and tolerance among nations.
This came during His Highness’s attendance of a lecture titled “The History of Civilizations: From the Stone Roots to Global Civilization”, delivered by Dr. Khazal Al-Majidi, an academic and researcher in the history of religions and ancient civilizations. The event was held at Al Rumailah Palace in Fujairah, as part of the bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council sessions.
His Highness also highlighted the keen interest of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, in topics related to history and civilizational identity. He praised the Ruler’s unwavering support for cultural and intellectual initiatives that deepen society’s awareness of its human heritage and reinforce the UAE’s role as a global platform for culture, thought, and civilizational dialogue.
The lecture addressed several core themes, including the evolution of civilizations throughout human history up to the modern era, a critical reading of the most influential civilizations in shaping human consciousness, and discussions on the transformation from a unipolar to a multipolar civilizational order. It also explored the current state of global civilization and its future outlook in light of global challenges and shifts.
Dr. Ali bin Nayea Al Tunaiji, Director of the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council, stated that organizing this lecture came under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Fujairah and aligns with the Council’s mission to host intellectual events that promote awareness, spread knowledge, and embed the values of cultural dialogue within the community.
The session was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Crown Prince’s Office, and Mr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library, along with a number of officials, intellectuals, and young individuals interested in history and civilization.
